| The Knoles Log House was built sometime in the 1820s on a site now
occupied by the Mead Corporation. Disassembled and moved twice, the house
was reconstructed on the grounds of the Society and opened to the public
in 1992. The house recreates the atmosphere of everyday life in early Chillicothe
and Ross County from 1800 to 1830 and features displays of furniture and
household tools from the period. The Knoles Log House is also the site
of seasonal demonstrations of cookery and other household activities.
